Chantilly Youth Association Lacrosse (CYAL)  is a volunteer run organization whose goal is to provide a positive and fun lacrosse experience for both boys and girls between the age of 6 and 15.  We strive to develop and maintain a program where every participant, regardless of initial skill level,  has the opportunity to learn the game;  develop and  improve skills;  and be prepared for the next level of lacrosse- whether it be the next age group or in the case of our U15 program -high school. We field teams in all skill levels (A, B and C) so that every participant is able to compete against players of similar skill and experience.

CYA's geography includes families in the Chantilly High School, Oakton High School, Westfield High School  and Fairfax High School boundaries.  South Lakes High School is aligned with the Herndon / Reston youth lacrosse league. These schools lacrosse rosters are filled with past CYA players.  Over the years, several past CYA participants have gone on to play college lacrosse after high school.

In an effort to improve the Administrative Efficiency, Accuracy and Function of CYA Lacrosse - ALL families are asked to REGISTER their child on the CYA Lacrosse site IN ADDITION to Registering on the Chantilly Youth Site - YES TWO separate Registrations needed!  


This is an additional registration function for families. Completing this step will assist us in accurately projecting numbers of teams and coaches needed, field space needs, improve team and emergency communication as well as reduce the man hours needed to administer the league.
 

Yes - we are asking families to fill registrations on both sites - (Chantilly Youth & CYA lax) -  the CYA Lax site process should move quickly.

The registration will take roughly 5 minuts to complete and there is no additional cost or payments due.

CYA Boys lax will hold its FINAL equipment rental session on Wed Jan 25th.

TIME:  6pm - 8 pm


Bring two checks and your son for proper fitting!


CYA Shed - Bennett Rd. (Bennett Rd is on the East side of West Ox Rd 1/2 mile past Navy Elementary School.

Due to the adverse weather and unsafe field conditions - CYA has cancelled the Boys skill clinic for Sunday Jan 22nd.  Currently the field is a sheet of ice and the anticipated Sunday temperatures (high of 34) do not offer any reason for optimism that a safe and productive environment will be present .

The next skill clinic will be Jan 29th.

U9 & U11  - 1 pm to 2:30 pm

U13 & U15 - 3pm to 4:30 pm

CYA Lacrosse has announced two BOYS skill clinics for those players registered for the Spring 2012 season.  The sessions will be held at Poplar Tree Fields.

The clinics will feature several skill specific stations and will be lead by the Chantilly & Oakton High School Coaches and players (as well as CYA coaches).

The dates for the BOYS clinics are:

Sunday January 22nd
Sunday January 29th.

Clinic Times are as follows: 

U9 & U11
1:15 pm – 2:45 pm
 
U13 & U15
3:00 pm – 4:30 pm

Site:  Poplar Tree Fields in Chantilly.

All players must be registered for the upcoming CYA spring season in order to participate.

CYA Lacrosse has announced 2012 dates for lacrosse equipment rentals.

ONLY TWO DATES LEFT

Saturday Jan 21st            9am - 11am

Wednesday Jan 25th       6pm - 8 pm

Rental Fee for the Spring / Summer Season (thru Aug 15th) will be $85 with a $200 deposit.

Players must be registered prior to attending Evaluations or the Upcoming Boys Clinics.

No players will be permitted to attend the clinics or evaluation sessions without registering for the upcoming season.

All Rental Sessions will be held at the CYA Equipment Shed which is located off Bennett Road.  Bennett road is off West Ox Rd.

CYA will  offer two BOYS skill clinics in January   (January 22nd and Jan 29th).

US Lacrosse, the national governing body for Lacrosse, has made the following recommendations regarding the cutoff dates for BOYS YOUTH LACROSSE.  NVYLL has approved the change in cutoff dates and will adopt them for the upcoming season (and beyond).

At this time, no exceptions to the policy will be made.

 U15:

All players must be 14 years old or younger on the August 31st preceding competition. It is recommended that when multiple teams exist within a program, the program should consider physical size, skill, and maturity when organizing teams.

U13:

All players must be 12 years old or younger on the August 31st preceding competition. It is recommended that when multiple teams exist within a program, the program should consider physical size, skill, and maturity when organizing teams.

U11:

All players must be 10 years old or younger on the August 31st preceding competition. It is recommended that when multiple teams exist within a program, the program should consider physical size, skill, and maturity when organizing teams.

U9:

All players must be 8 years old or younger on the August 31st preceding competition. It is recommended that when multiple teams exist within a program, teams should consider physical size, skill, and maturity.
