Chantilly Youth Association Lacrosse (CYAL)  is a volunteer run organization whose goal it is to provide a positive and fun lacrosse experience for both boys and girls between the age of 6 and 15.  We strive to develop and maintain a program where every participant, regardless of initial skill level,  has the opportunity to learn the game;  develop and  improve skills;  and be prepared for the next level of lacrosse- whether it be the next age group or in the case of our U15 program -high school. We field teams in all skill levels (A, B and C) so that every participant is able to compete against players of similar skill and experience.

CYA's geography includes families in the Chantilly High School and Oakton High School, boundaries.  These schools lacrosse rosters are filled with past CYA players.  Over the years, several past CYA participants have gone on to play college lacrosse after high school.

Obviously - mother nature has determined its not quite time to hit the lax fields.  We will do our best to maximize dates and times as well as pursue any indoor facility opportunity we can.  Additionally, we will communicate any updates by email blast.

The boys equipment rental session slated for Thursday Feb 4 has been cancelled.  There will be a boys rental session Thursday Feb 11 from 6:30 - 8:30.

Rental session is cancelled due to the Tryouts session being postponned for this Sunday.

Due to pending storm and dipping temperatures, the BOYS evaluations have been cancelled for this Sunday, Feb 7.  Girls will make announcement tomorrow.  Rescheduled dates and times will be announced shortly.  Weekend of  Feb 27/28 will be used.

Additionally - EQUIPMENT RENTAL CANCELLED FOR THURSDAY FEB 4.

Registration converts to late fee after midnight Friday - please sign up prior to then to save the late fee.

To all CYA U13 boys participants:

Lacrosse clinics offered at Poplar Tree Park every Friday evening  from 5:30 - 7:30 pm

Sessions lead  by CYA U13 coaches with some periodic outside professional coaching.  

NO CHARGE - purpose it to get the rust off and hone some skills.

Clinics are not tryouts - but skill building sessions!

Open to all U13 boys registered for CYA lacrosse.

Full equipment required for all participants.

Every CYA Girls lax player must have their own CYA team kilt for the 2010 season.   Returning players may use their kilt from last season as the style has not changed.  Ordering and sizing will be done at the player evaluations at Word of Grace in February.

New CYA Spirit wear has been ordered for the 2010 season, also available at the girls evaluations at Word of Grace.  This is always popular with the girls.  Prices as follows:

Kilt - $20
White Hoodie - $25
Black Sweatpants - $20
Black Longsleeve T - $15
Car Magnet - $5

Limited inventory from the 2009 season will be available for sale as well at discounted prices.

CYA Lacrosse tryout dates and times for Boys and Girls are listed below.  All tryouts are held at Word of Grace fields.

BOYS Tryout dates:
Sunday Feb 7
Sunday Feb 21
Sunday Feb 28 
Tentative weather make up date - Feb 27

BOYS Age Group times - (note - this is a slight change from originally stated times)

U15    Arrive 1:00 for registration    On Field from 1:30 p to 2:45 p
U13    Arrive 2:15 for registration    On Field from 2:45 p to 4:00 p
U11    Arrive 3:15 for registration    On Field from 3:45 p to 5:00 p 

Registration desk will provide numbers for the players to wear and verify walker ID or Birth certificate. Boys must be in full equipment with protective cup AND MOUTH GUARDS.  NO player will be permitted to tryout without a mouthguard.

There is no evaluations for the U9 BOYS players as they are grouped primarily by neighborhoods, schools etc.

GIRLS Tryout Dates 

Sunday Feb 7
Sunday Feb 21

Sunday Feb 28 and Sat Feb 27 are set aside for backup should weather cause either of the above 2 to be cancelled.
ALL PLAYERS NEED TO BE EVALUATED

GIRLS Age Group Times

U9 / U11   Arrive 12:45 for Registration        On Field from 1 p to 2 p
U13           Arrive  1:45 p for Registration       On Field from 2 p to 3:15 p

Players must bring Goggles, Stick, Mouth guard.  Players will need walker ID or Birth Certificate to verify age.

Please note the following Action Items for CYA lacrosse families:

REGISTRATION - is open and space is filling fast - please visit the CYA main pages to access Registration process.

Equipment rental - The  boys second rental session on Tuesday Jan 26 - 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm at the CYA shed on Bennett Road.  (located to the East of West Ox Rd between Navy School and Franklin Farm).  Currently there is not another rental session scheduled before tryouts.


BOYS COACHES CLINIC - Sat Feb 6th at Chantilly High School - 9am - noon.  CYA will pay registration fee.  All CYA boys coaches urged to attend.  Clinic run by CHS, Robinson, Langley and Madison High School Boys Lacrosse Staffs. Focus is on drills, practice concepts and game strategies - geared towards youth coaches.
