Chantilly Youth Association Lacrosse (CYAL)  is a volunteer run organization whose goal it is to provide a positive and fun lacrosse experience for both boys and girls between the age of 6 and 15.  We strive to develop and maintain a program where every participant, regardless of initial skill level,  has the opportunity to learn the game;  develop and  improve skills;  and be prepared for the next level of lacrosse- whether it be the next age group or in the case of our U15 program -high school. We field teams in all skill levels (A, B and C) so that every participant is able to compete against players of similar skill and experience.

CYA's geography includes families in the Chantilly High School and Oakton High School, boundaries.  These schools lacrosse rosters are filled with past CYA players.  Over the years, several past CYA participants have gone on to play college lacrosse after high school.

 Many of you have received emails from either the website or your coach including a TEAM PASSWORD.  

When you have accessed your team page - by aligning the Drop Down boxes to your respective team on the Teams & Schedules Tab (found along the top row), hit ROSTER tab button. This will access a First name only roster.

SCROLL down to the bottom of the roster - you will see a box to enter your team password.  This will allow you to see full name roster and contact info.  Parents can email the whole team from this page etc.


For many folks unfamiliar with lacrosse and drills etc.  - you are encouraged to go to the Coaching Tools and Drills tab - there are many interesting tabs to work thru.  The Drills Online tab will take you to an external site - KUDDA.  Here you will find extensive drills and instruction.  Another good tab is the Coach Stewart tab, and the Trig Talk tab.

Another great way to learn is by watching the game - either on TV or locally with the High Schools and great local colleges.

 As the craziest Preseason in CYA lax  history winds down - team assignments are being finalized over next 24 hours.  The A teams and a majority of the B teams have been assembled, and coaches should be in contact over the next 24 / 48 hours.  Please be patient with us on this.  

U 9 teams will be assembled over the weekend and notices sent out soon thereafter.  Please note we will be putting U9 teams together based on geography and schools.  

WE ARE LOOKING FOR A FEW FOLKS TO HELP OUT WITH THE U9 BOYS.

We have people for each team  - but we would like to identify a few extra folks to help out if possible. Limited to no lax experience necessary.  Basketball or Soccer coaching experience is helpful but not necessary - remember - it's not like you are going out to coach Hopkins or Syracuse here!!!! We have plenty of lax folks to lend a hand - but need some folks to become part of the U9 coaching experience!  An  invitation to the Birnie Coaches BBQ is generally all the enticement some folks need to jump in!!

 In order to be part of the Northern Virginia Youth League Lacrosse League in a volunteer capacity (coach, administrator, etc.) all individuals must complete a quick Background Screening online form.

This is done to ensure the highest level of safety within our youth program.  This important program is launched in conjunction with The National Center for Safety Initiatives.

If you are coaching or plan to serve as a field volunteer in any capacity, please follow the easy steps below:

Click on "Self Registration" - gold box on left hand side of site
 
1.  Enter Self Registration number  83862460 

2.  Enter your information as requested (use your full legal name as written on drivers license or birth certificate)

3.  Provide Legal Authorization and Certification.
